BRUSSELS — The European Pet Food Industry (FEDIAF) announced the appointment of Sonia Franck to secretary general. According to the association, Franck’s experience will support its continued growth and the overall success of the industry.

“I am honored to have been appointed by FEDIAF and am looking forward to immersing myself in the pet industry and engaging with members,” Franck said. “I am keen to further strengthen FEDIAF’s reputation as the leading authority in the European pet food sector.”

Prior to joining FEDIAF, Franck served as secretary general of IML Innovative Medicines Luxemborg, in which she played a key role in transforming the association. During her time with IML, Franck developed a new five-year strategy, restructuring the association’s management, diversifying its revenue and elevating IML’s visibility.

“We are thrilled to have Sonia join our ranks,” said Rosa Carbonell, president of FEDIAF. “Her outstanding track record, coupled with her passion for pets, aligns perfectly with FEDIAF’s mission. Sonia’s expertise will be instrumental as FEDIAF continues its journey of collaboration with authorities, regulators and academics to ensure Europeans have continued access to safe, nutritious and high-quality pet food.”

Franck joins other FEDIAF leadership, including Alice Tempel Costa, deputy secretary general and technical director; Aleksandra Prandota, EU policy and regulatory affairs manager; and James Ramsay, public affairs and strategic communications manager.

“With this robust team in place, FEDIAF is poised for continued success in representing the pet food industry throughout Europe,” Carbonell said.
