OLNEY, ENGLAND — Pet Industry Federation (PIF) recently announced a new event — The Business of Pets — specifically designed to support pet industry companies as they seek to advance their businesses. The new conference will take place on June 7 and 8 at the Cranfield Management Development Centre in the United Kingdom.

The Business of Pets conference will feature industry expert speakers, including investors, distributors, IP professionals, legal advisors and mentors.

“We often hear from our members that they want to take their business to the next level but don’t have either the time, finance or support structure to enable them to do so,” said Nigel Baker, chief executive officer, PIF. “We have created The Business of Pets conference to help solve this problem and have curated a fantastic roster of speakers who will be able to inspire attendees to move forward profitably. I’m sure that these two days of learning and networking will prove invaluable for the business owners, directors and decision makers who attend.”

The event will also include an Innovation of the Year Award, which will recognize a new product, service or technological innovation in the pet industry. The award is open to all pet care businesses. A judging panel will select 10 finalists, who will then present their innovations at the conference, providing them access to potential investors. The winner of the Innovation of the Year Award will be named on June 8.

“I would also encourage all pet business innovators to enter the Innovation of the Year Award; the 10 finalists will have a unique opportunity to pitch to potential investors during the two-day Business of Pets conference,” Baker said.

Tickets to PIF’s The Business of Pets event will be available beginning March 20 and entries for the Innovation of the Year Award will open this month.
