KANSAS CITY, MO. — The forecast for hosting in-person events in 2021 is still murky, with most pet industry conferences, trade shows and meetings moving online at least through March.
For example, organizers of Global Pet Expo announced in mid-December that it will be held entirely online March 24 to 26. International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) and its concurrent Pet Food Conference hosted by the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) were held virtually in January.
The Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) has hoped to hold its 2021 Annual Conference in-person in Indian Wells, Calif., but announced in early March that the event has been cancelled due to ongoing COVID-19 implications.
"The Executive Committee of the FPSA Board has made this decision after carefully considering the risks and our ability to ensure the safety of our members at this popular event," FPSA stated in the announcement.
Most recently, organizers of PROCESS EXPO have moved the trade show's dates and location, now planned for Nov. 2 to 5 at the South Hall of McCormick Place Convention Center. The event was originally scheduled from Oct. 12 to 15 at the Lakeside Center of McCormick Place.
