WOODINVILLE, WASH. — EarthWise Pet recently acquired 11 new retail locations, expanding its presence throughout Orange County, Calif., and Scottsdale, Ariz. Seven of the stores are from Kriser’s Natural Pet and four are from See Spot Shop.

According to EarthWise, the store acquisitions advance the retailer’s larger mission to become a leader in the pet supply and service retail space throughout the United States.

A collaboration between Earthwise’s corporate team and Chris Wadlington, Southern California pet area representative at EarthWise, allowed the retailer to acquire the Kriser’s Natural Pet locations in California. The stores became available after Kriser’s Natural Pet’s parent company Independent Pet Partners announced the intention to close some of its stores.

“Chris Wadlington's expertise and diligence were instrumental in securing these seven locations,” said Mike Seitz, chief executive officer of EarthWise. “We are excited to expand our footprint in Southern California. EarthWise Pet recognizes the importance of these stores’ existing managers and staff in building strong relationships with customers, and it's a privilege to be in a position to help them keep their jobs and save these stores.”

In addition to the Kriser’s Natural Pet stores, EarthWise also acquired four retail locations in Arizona from See Spot Shop, which serves as a premier holistic pet center. The retailer acts as a one-stop shop for pet parents, offering holistic pet foods, treats and supplements, as well as pet supplies, including collars, beds, clothing and toys. Some locations also offer grooming services.

The store acquisitions expand EarthWise’s total store count, which currently includes more than 200 locations throughout the United States. The retailer expects to consolidate and convert the Kriser’s Natural Pet and See Spot Shop locations into EarthWise locations by the end of May.
