LONG BEACH, CALIF. — Redbarn Pet Products has achieved SQF certification from the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Initiative at its manufacturing facilities in Kansas and Paraguay.
“With this certification, Redbarn joins an elite group of manufacturers that are able to achieve and uphold the standards of SQF,” said Jeff Sutherland, president at Redbarn Pet Products. “To accomplish SQF certification took the time and dedication of our Redbarn employees. They know how important it is at Redbarn to always work to exceed the expectations. As we embrace the SQF process, it means consistently improving in everything we do.”
The certification, recognized internationally by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), qualifies manufacturers based on high standards for both food safety and quality, both for pet food and human food products. Although it is not a requirement for pet food processors, it is a good measure for these companies to prove their dedication to safety and quality.
Redbarn stated its quality assurance team has long been conducting more than 3,500 product tests per month, which includes physical, chemical and microbiological tests conducted daily. The company has been in business since 1996 and currently manufacturers more than 200 pet food, treat and chew products for dogs and cats.
