ST. LOUIS — On July 1, Instinct Pet Food introduced its latest product innovation, FreshRaw™ Meals, which is designed to combine fresh ingredients with the nutrition preservation of raw food. 

FreshRaw Meals are raw, protein-packed recipes made with whole-food ingredients for high levels of flavor, nutrition and health benefits. Available in Beef, Chicken, Turkey or Lamb flavor, the meals are made with responsibly sourced meat as the main ingredient, as well as non-GMO fruits and vegetables. 

Formulated to provide adult dogs with top nutrition, FreshRaw Meals are 100% raw to preserve the nutrients and flavor of the food. Frozen at peak freshness and cold-pressured for safety, they deliver fresh in a format that is easy to serve and store, according to Instinct.

“We’re thrilled to bring to market what other cooked frozen and ‘fresh’ brands aren’t delivering on today,” said Beau Mainous, chief executive officer of Instinct. “Gently cooked is still cooked — raw is simply the freshest food your dog can eat.”

With the addition of the raw formulas, the brand remains dedicated to safety and quality, according to Bobby Harris, chief operating officer of Instinct.

“All of our raw products go through our extensive SafeRaw™ process, which includes a high-pressure pasteurization (HPP) with negative pathogen confirmation before leaving our facilities,” he explained.

The new launch will also serve as the debut of Instinct’s updated branding. While the brand’s existing products will begin transitioning to the new look by the end of the year, the recipes will remain the same, according to Instinct.

“FreshRaw Meals serve as the perfect introduction to Instinct’s broader brand and packaging relaunch slated for later this year,” said Mark Chu, vice president/general manager of Marketing. “This launch perfectly embodies our nutritional philosophy — simple, real ingredients that fuel pets’ health and happiness from the inside out. There is nothing fresher than raw.”

FreshRaw Meals will be available in 8-oz and 16-oz packs, as well as a 6-pack recipe sampler, at Petco, PetSmart, various other neighborhood pet stores and online through Chewy.
