REIDSVILLE, NC. — Premium pet nutrition company Farmina Pet Foods officially opened its first US-based manufacturing facility in Reidsville, NC. While new to US manufacturing, Farmina has served customers in North America for more than a decade, providing premium pet food formulated with European ingredients produced using advanced technology.

The 150,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility represents a $115 million investment and is expected to create 200 new jobs over the next five years, with 75 positions already filled, according to the company.

To celebrate the new facility, the company held an official opening ceremony on June 11, which was attended by Senator Phil Berger; Chrissy Waggett, assistant commissioner for Consumer Protection at the North Carolina Department of Agriculture; Kevin Berger, chairman of the Rockingham County board of commissioners; and Reidsville Mayor Donald Gorham.

“Farmina’s decision to establish its US operations in North Carolina is a strong endorsement of our skilled workforce and our growing reputation as a business-friendly hub for modern, innovative manufacturing,” Berger said. ”We’re thrilled to welcome this world-class technology to our great state and proudly open our arms to Farmina as they join our business community.”

The company's strategic investment in North Carolina is expected to contribute millions of dollars to the state’s economy. According to Farmina, the decision to manufacture in the United States allows it to localize production, serving the growing North American market faster and more sustainably. 

Farmina stated that it stands out within the US market due to its European food safety standards that adhere to and “far exceed” US regulations, as well as its use of cutting-edge technology. The company aims to set a new standard of pet care in the United States through the production output of this new facility.
