VIENNA — Sustainable packaging producer Mondi has partnered with French pet food manufacturer Saga Nutrition to create recyclable packaging for dry pet foods. According to Mondi, the packaging replaces non-recyclable, multi-material plastic with mono-material, helping maintain product freshness while also supporting a circular economy. 

The new packaging is part of Mondi’s re/cycle portfolio, specifically its re/cycle FlexiBag offering. re/cycle FlexiBag touts high-barrier properties to protect products from moisture, fat and odor and is designed to meet CEFLEX recycling guidelines. The packaging is available in a range of sizes from 3 kgs (2.2 lbs) and up.  

“As consumer demand for sustainable solutions grows, we are excited to work with Saga Nutrition to deliver packaging that truly supports a circular economy when it comes to pet food,” said Olivier Werbrouck, regional sales consumer flexibles France at Mondi. 

re/cycle FlexiBag also includes features for secure sealing, easy storage and handling to provide convenience to consumers.
