HARTVILLE, OHIO — Renewable Lubricants, Inc., a producer of high-performance lubricants and greases for food production, introduced its new Bio-SynXtra™ Food grade Refrigeration/Compressor Oils. The bio-based oil is designed for food processing equipment to improve lubricity, seal conditioning anti-wear performance.

Bio-SynXtra™ Food grade Refrigeration/Compressor Oils are specifically developed for refrigeration/compressor applications. They feature excellent oxidation and thermal stability, a low pour point, and a significantly higher flash point to reduce the risk of fire or explosion. Additionally, the oils have excellent rust protection, anti-foam, demulsibility and anti-wear properties. The oils are available in several ISO grades including 15, 22, 32, 46, 68, 100, 150 and 200.

With all these features, Bio-SynXtra™ Food grade Refrigeration/Compressor Oils are ideal for compressors and vacuum pumps, refrigeration equipment, hydraulic systems, as well as gears, turbines and more.

The oils offer superior, long-term oxidation stability and lubricating qualities for portable and stationary rotary compressors; single stage, two-stage and multi-stage reciprocating compressors; and centrifugal compressors and vacuum pumps. According to Renewable Lubricants, ISO grades 32, 46 and 68 have the potential to extend service life up to 8,000 hours in rotary screw compressors.

For refrigeration systems, the oils are compatible with CO2, ammonia systems and those containing R-12 refrigerant. They are also recommended for chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) and hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) refrigerants, including R-717, R-11, R-12, R-13, R-113, R-114, R-115, R-22, R-123, R-14b, R-500, R-501 and R-502.

For hydraulics, the oils feature a zinc-free additive system that meets food grade H-1 requirements, while also providing exceptional anti-wear performance. They may also be used in systems that require an R&O circulating oil or mild, anti-wear oil with high temperature stability and low temperature fluidity performance.

For turbines, the oils meet and exceed requirements for several systems, including those of Turbine R&O, AW Turbine R&O, Steam Turbine R&O, and Gas Turbine R&O.
