DENVER — Woof launched its new Doggy Dental Mix, a DIY dental supplement intended to be used with the brand’s flagship toy product, the Pupsicle, on May 28. The new product is the latest addition to the brand’s line of functional Wellness Pops. With many pet parents finding brushing their dogs’ teeth to be tedious and difficult, Woof is seeking to provide an easy-to-use option to provide dental health benefits with Doggy Dental Mix. 

Doggy Dental Mix is designed to specifically target periodontal disease at its source by allowing the solution’s enzymes and postbiotics to promote fresh breath, healthy teeth and gums, and a healthy oral microbiome. Unlike traditional dental products, the use of Doggy Dental Mix inside of the Pupsicle allows pups to get at least 20 minutes of deep cleaning, according to Woof. To use, customers mix Dental Mix with water, freeze the mixture in the Pupsicle tray and, once frozen, put the Pops into the Pupsicle for use.

Suitable for dogs with dietary restrictions or sensitivities, Dental Mix also utilizes an Oratech® blend that combines enzymes and kelp, which is specifically designed to target tartar and oral biofilm buildup, according to Woof. Several studies have shown that dogs who were fed diets containing kelp had a significant reduction in calculus and plaque formation, as well as an increase in overall oral health. The mix also contains clinically backed active ingredients like zinc and Ceylon cinnamon, which studies have shown have antimicrobial and antifungal properties.
