CHAMPAIGN, ILL. — The Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) is currently considering the inclusion of cantaloupe, dates and pumpkin seeds to the Common Food Index (CFI). The association is encouraging stakeholders, including veterinarians, animal nutritionists, consumer groups and the general public, to review these proposed items and provide feedback.

The CFI is a list of the most common and well-known ingredients assessed by AAFCO’s subcommittee of ingredient definition and label reviewers. The index includes ingredients that may be appropriate for use in animal nutrition.

All feedback is due by May 23. Stakeholders can submit their feedback to AAFCO here.
