ALEXANDRIA, MINN. — Massman Companies, a leader in packaging machinery, announced the acquisition of Sanger, Calif.-based ADCO, an end-of-the-line packaging machinery company. The new partnership will add cartoning technology to Massman’s packaging production capabilities.

Massman’s brands, which include Massman Automation, EDL, Ideal Pase, DTM Packaging and New England Machinery, provide equipment for a range of applications throughout the production line in a wide variety of industries including pet food.

“ADCO and Massman share common company family values focused on customer success, employee wellness, and their commitment to providing the ‘Best Running Machine in the Factory,’” said Jeff Hohn, president and chief executive officer of Massman Companies. “We are excited to welcome ADCO employees to Massman Companies and look forward to being able to provide more solutions to our customers with this partnership.”

Founded in 1958 by John and Babe Tanney, ADCO has grown into one of the leading cartoner companies in the market today. Second generation family members, Kate, Colleen and Maureen, have followed in their parents’ footsteps leading the company’s mission to help their customers grow by supporting and solving their packaging equipment challenges.

“We are excited to be joining Massman Companies,” said Kate King, CEO of ADCO. “ADCO and Massman have had a long successful business relationship that will allow us to accelerate growth rapidly through this partnership. Massman’s commitment to our brand, site, and our employees made this a natural fit for ADCO’s next chapter.”
