RANDERS, DENMARK — Globe Buddy unveiled its newest sustainable dog treats, Luxx Rewards and Luxx Dental Sticks, at Expozoo Paris Animal Show earlier this month. The new treats are formulated with premium insect protein to provide a nutritious, palatable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional meat-based dog treats.

“Pet parents across Europe are looking for sustainable choices, and we’re meeting that demand with high-quality treats that are good for dogs and the planet,” said Bjarne Gravesen Jensen, chief executive officer of Globe Buddy. “Insect protein has a naturally low climate impact, making it a smart and responsible option for conscious pet owners.”

The treats contain insect protein from supplier Ÿnsect, which specializes in mealworm-based ingredients for pet nutrition. According to the companies, the insect protein is rich in essential nutrients and easily digestible. Additionally, the protein carries a low carbon footprint of 3.20 kg CO2e per kg of protein, compared to 55.16 kg CO2e for beef.

Formulated with sea buckthorn, collagen, microalgae and lactobacillus, Luxx Rewards treats are designed to serve as a training or daily reward treat. Formulated with mint and sodium hexametaphosphate, The Luxx Dental Sticks are designed to support oral health.

“The pet food industry must evolve — yesterday’s solutions won’t meet tomorrow’s needs,” Jensen said. “We are driving change by creating innovative, planet-friendly nutrition that dogs love and that helps reduce our environmental footprint.”
