CHARLOTTE, NC. — Material processing and handling solutions companies Advanced Material Processing (AMP) and Automated Handling Solutions (AHS) announced their merger and rebrand as Akona Process Solutions, a portfolio company of May River Capital.
Akona unifies the technologies of AMP and AHS to deliver an extensive portfolio of processing and handling solutions for materials in the food and beverage, pet food, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and chemicals industries.
The new company will leverage AMP’s and AHS’s Cablevey, Kason, Marion and Spiroflow brands, bringing more than 200 years of collective experience in solving material handling and processing challenges. Akona is headquartered in Charlotte with engineering, sales and service centers across the United States and Europe.

The new company’s portfolio includes mixers, blenders, dryers, screeners, conveyors, integrated control solutions, bulk material filling and discharging systems. Through uniting the two companies’ technologies and expertise, Akona aims to enable customers to streamline their operations, reduce downtime and improve productivity — all while working with a trusted and reliable partner.
