VERNON, BRITISH COLUMBIA — Trueleaf Petcare Inc. announced March 23 it has officially acquired True Leaf, a brand of pet supplements. Trueleaf Petcare is led by Chief Executive Officer Darcy Bomford, the original founder of the True Leaf supplement brand. The acquisition officially closed on Jan. 30.

“We are happy to be back as owners of the industry leading True Leaf® product line as we solidify the supply chain and position the brand to meet consumer demand,” Bomford said.

Several other industry veterans will join True Leaf following the acquisition, including Daniela Fischer as vice president of quality, regulatory and research and development; Lindsey Eadie in operations, marketing and sales; and Ruth Brennan, controller.

Bomford and his team are currently working on manufacturing partnerships to build inventory for the True Leaf brand. The brand will operate out of Trueleaf Petcare’s office in Vernon, British Columbia.

The True Leaf supplement brand was first introduced in 2016 and then sold to Canada Pet Health Technology in 2020. According to Trueleaf Petcare, the brand was one of the first hemp-focused supplement entrants in the US market, and one of the first to receive certification from the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC).

Since its founding, True Leaf has created a line of hemp seed-inclusive supplements targeting calming, mobility and immune support in dogs and cats. The company also offers a line featuring oil of oregano, which targets oral, immune and skin health, according to Trueleaf Petcare.
