OLNEY, ENGLAND — The Pet Industry Federation (PIF), a UK trade association for the pet industry, appointed Bruce Casalis to chair of the organization following a board meeting earlier this month.

Founded in 1947, PIF operates as the voice of the UK pet industry. Current members include groomers, walkers, kennel and boarding businesses, sitters, retailers, manufacturers and suppliers. The organization strives to represent its members interests in governmental affairs, lobbying on pet industry issues and more.

According to PIF, Casalis is a recognized leader in the pet service space. He founded Bruce’s Doggy Day Care in 2008 and has served as a board director of PIF since 2018.

“We are delighted to have secured someone of Bruce’s caliber to Chair PIF,” said Nigel Baker, chief executive officer of PIF. “There are a lot of exciting developments in the pipeline for PIF members this year and we very much look forward to working with Bruce to help bring these to fruition.”

Casalis will begin his two-year term at PIF this month.

“I am excited to be taking on the Chair role in PIF’s 75th year and am looking forward to using my experience and passion to help the Federation grow and become an even more effective ambassador for the pet industry,” he said.
