ATLANTA — In an effort to optimize its operations, Pet Supermarket, a specialty pet retailer, has partnered with RELEX Solutions, a provider of supply chain and retail solutions. RELEX’s solutions will be implemented in Pet Supermarket’s two distribution centers and stores throughout the Southeast.

Pet Supermarket currently operates 218 stores, with plans for eight new locations this year, all of which offer premium pet food, supplies and services. The retailer also operates an e-commerce platform that offers consumers same-day delivery of pet products. Currently, Pet Supermarket uses various separate planning processes, including spreadsheets for replenishment, which lacks scalability for the retailer.

“Our partnership with RELEX offers an exciting opportunity to forecast demand with greater precision and deliver customer favorites specific to our service communities,” said Allen McClard, chief executive officer of Pet Supermarket. “With an eye on growth, we’re proud to have RELEX as a trusted collaborator for our in-store and online operations.”

With plans to significantly expand, Pet Supermarket has partnered with RELEX to modernize its systems. RELEX will help increase product availability through more unified demand forecasting and replenishment process. RELEX will also support Pet Supermarket as it continues to expand into other online sales channels.

“RELEX has a strong reputation for delivering value to specialty pet supply retailers, like Pet Supermarket,” said Frank Lord, chief revenue officer at RELEX Solutions. “We’re thrilled to be helping Pet Supermarket unify their forecasting and replenishment optimization processes. By allowing the technology to do the heavy lifting, they’ll be able to spend time focusing on their strategic goals for growth and benefit from improved operational efficiencies across the board.”

RELEX’s implementation partner Logic will also work with Pet Supermarket to help ensure a smooth transition.

“We are excited to expand our relationship with Pet Supermarket to support transformational changes to their business,” said Pedro Silva, chief customer officer of Logic. “As part of that effort, Logic is helping lead the change management that will enable Pet Supermarket’s people and processes to generate efficiencies in their supply chain operations.”
