ANKENY, IOWA — Essentia Protein Solutions detailed its plan to construct a new manufacturing plant in Dalton, Ga. The greenfield facility will process raw materials to aid in the production of the company’s food-grade stocks, broths and fats for use in human and pet nutrition industries.
Located on a 20-acre site, the new facility is expected to increase Essentia’s capacity and capabilities in protein ingredients and will create 80 new jobs.
“We are pleased to announce this investment to support our customers’ needs for clean-label food ingredients,” said Corey Jansen, president and chief executive officer of Essentia North America. “We are excited about the partnership with the city of Dalton and Whitfield County, and we look forward to many years of growth together.”
Essentia is part of The Lauridsen Group and produces a variety of USDA-certified, minimally processed, food-grade stocks, broths and functional proteins rich in collagen. With production sites spanning the globe, the company also offers several stocks, broths, extracts, flavors and specialty ingredients, including protein isolates and bone marrow, for use in pet food and treats.
