FAIRFIELD, CALIF. — On July 18, Primal Pet Foods launched a new line of dog and cat treats, including 15 new recipes. The new treats are formulated with simple ingredients and are available in jerky, freeze-dried and dehydrated formats.

According to Matt Koss, chief product officer of Primal Pet Group, owner of Primal Pet Foods, the company saw an opportunity to create a new treat line that offers a wide variety of formats to satisfy every pet.

“We’ve always been focused on making high-quality treats with pure and simple ingredients — and that foundation is at the heart of this launch,” Koss said. “We innovated our lineup by using different production technologies to make treats in a range of shapes, textures and sizes.”

The new treats are free from corn, wheat, soy, legumes, lentils, grains and gluten and are formulated with ethically sourced proteins. According to Primal Pet Foods, the proteins are raised without any antibiotics, steroids or added hormones.

Primal Pet Foods’ new treats are available in four lines: FriendChips Matter!; Freeze-Dried Crunchy Treats; Liver, Laugh, Love; and Let’s All Get A Lung!.

The FriendChips Matter! jerky treats offer two recipes for dogs, available in chicken and beef formulas. The jerky treats also come in a variation for dogs and cats called Give Pieces A Chance!, which is available in two recipes for dogs and one recipe for cats. According to Primal Pet Foods, the jerky treats were specifically designed to serve as training treats.

The Freeze-Dried Crunchy Treats for dogs and cats contain food inclusions like banana, pumpkin and peanut butter and are formulated with goat milk and probiotics to help support immune health. The freeze-dried treats are available in four recipes for dogs — Pumpkin For My Pumpkin, Peelin’ Fantastic, You Maple My Day, and You’re My Butter Half — and one recipe for cats — The G.O.A.T.

The Liver, Laugh, Love freeze-dried liver treats for dogs and cats are formulated with real animal liver and probiotics. The treats are available in two recipes for dogs — Chicken Liver and Pork Liver — and one recipe for cats — Pork Liver.

The Let’s All Get A Lung! line of treats is formulated with real lung from beef and lamb. The dehydrated cube treats are available in two recipes — Beef Lung and Lamb Lung — for dogs.

“We believe treats should be fun,” Koss added. “From the flavors of the recipes and whimsical names of our new products to the many occasions we use them to train or reward our pets, my hope is that this new lineup of treats will delight our pet parents as well as their dogs and cats.”

Primal Pet Foods’ new treats are all packaged in recyclable materials as part of its dedication to the environment. The company’s packaging also includes recycling information for pet parents in partnership with How2Recycle.
