KANSAS CITY, MO. – After joining Sosland Publishing Company in 2017 to help launch Pet Food Processing, Jennifer Semple is stepping down as Editor. Since the publication’s inaugural issue in March 2018, Semple has helped develop Pet Food Processing’s magazine audience, as well as its website and social media presence. Succeeding Semple is Kimberlie Clyma, who has been promoted to Editor for Pet Food Processing. Clyma brings 12 years of editorial experience working as Managing Editor and, most recently, Executive Editor of MEAT+POULTRY, a sister publication to Pet Food Processing under Sosland Publishing’s banner.

“Jennifer was an integral part of the development of Pet Food Processing from Day 1,” said Dave Crost, publisher of Pet Food Processing and MEAT+POULTRY. “We are grateful for her contributions to the magazine and the pet food industry, and we wish her well.”

Clyma joined Sosland Publishing in 2006 as Associate Editor of Baking & Snack International. After four years, she was promoted to Managing Editor of MEAT+POULTRY, and later, in 2019, became Executive Editor. During her tenure with MEAT+POULTRY she has helped manage the production of the monthly publication, represented the magazine at industry events nationally and internationally and has helped support MEAT+POULTRY’s digital products.

“Stepping in as the editorial leader with Pet Food Processing is a natural next step for Kimberlie, given the similarities in the pet food and meat and poultry processing industries,” Crost said. “Through the years, she has gained the respect of MEAT+POULTRY readers, including the supplier community and I am confident she will thrive in this new role.”
