MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. — Bright Planet Pet dog treats, Better Burg'r, Better Brat, and Better BBQ Chick'n, will be carried in more than 500 Petco stores in the United States. The Minneapolis-based, woman-owned company makes plant-based, vegan dog treats that taste and smell like real meat. Bright Planet Pet’s treats are made from sustainable, all-natural ingredients with a focus on reducing a dog’s environmental impact.

“Bright Planet Pet was born out of a desire to create a brighter, better planet for everyone,” said Katherine Ellison, co-founder of Bright Planet Pet. “Every small change adds up and having an option for plant-based treats, that are equally delicious as meat treats, helps reduce carbon pawprints and helps us live more sustainable, green-forward lives.”

Bright Planet Pet treats are available at Petco stores around the country as part of Petco’s sustainability efforts and commitment to increasing its assortment of sustainable products to 50% by the end of 2025. All Bright Planet Pet products are made with chickpea flour, brown rice, dehydrated sweet potato, and dried brewer’s yeast. They are free from corn, soy, wheat, and peas.

For every purchase, Bright Planet Pet donates to the Eden Reforestation Project to plant one tree. This effort to help combat climate change has resulted 15,581 trees in 2021 and the company is on target to reach its goal of 100,000 trees planted in 2022 due to Bright Planet Pet’s donations to the project.
