MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Petco Health and Wellness Company, Inc. and Lowe’s have partnered to create a store-in-store program, which will place mini-Petco’s into select Lowe’s locations. The companies unveiled the first Lowe’s + Petco in Alamo Ranch, Texas, and announced plans to expand into 14 other Lowe’s locations in Texas, North Carolina and South Carolina by the end of March 2022.

With the COVID-19 pandemic causing lockdowns and quarantines, many Americans have found themselves at home for long periods of time. According to a Lowe’s survey, the pandemic has forced people to find comfort in their homes and pets. With this information, Lowe’s and Petco hope to provide a one-stop shop for pet parents looking to improve their homes and keep their pets healthy.

"For many of our customers, their pets and their homes top the list of things that matter most, especially after two years spent mostly together within the same four walls," said Bill Boltz, executive vice president of merchandising at Lowe’s. "This partnership enhances the total home solution we offer them by bringing home improvement and pet care products, services and expertise together under one roof."

Each new Lowe’s + Petco location will provide Lowe’s same pet-friendly atmosphere with the addition of Petco’s pet foods, treats and supplies. The locations will carry several pet food brands, including WholeHearted, Good Lovin’, Mars, Purina and more. The locations will also offer other pet products, supplies and Petco’s services, including Vetco vaccination clinics, pet prescriptions, microchipping and mobile grooming.

"Our pets' place in our hearts and homes has never been more front-and-center, and our responsibility to provide them with a safe, healthy and stimulating home environment is an essential part of Petco's Whole Health philosophy," said Nick Konat, chief merchandising officer at Petco. "Bringing Petco's pet care expertise, high-quality products, and veterinary and grooming services to Lowe's helps make it easier than ever to create healthy, happy homes for pet parents and the pets they love."
