GREEN BAY, WIS. — Carnivore Meat Company announced Jan. 11 it has acquired its fourth facility in the Green Bay area, a move expected to increase the company’s production capacity by 50%.

The 24,000-square-foot facility will house 12 custom-built freeze-dryers, bringing the company’s total freeze-dryer fleet to 35 systems. The additional space will also be used as a warehouse for finished products. The site is expected to be fully operational by July 2022.

"This acquisition has been high on our radar for a number of years,” said Lanny Viegut, chief executive officer of Carnivore Meat Company. “Our commitment and belief in Carnivore's culture were primary drivers in making this a reality. We continuously challenge ourselves to find ways to say 'YES' and we 'make the impossible... possible.”

By increasing its production capacity and warehouse space, Carnivore Meat Company is preparing to meet what it described as “surging consumer demand” for its raw-focused pet food and treat brands, Vital Essentials, Vital Cat and Nature’s Advantage. This increased demand has resulted in a three-year growth rate of 141% for the company.

The new facility will also bring new jobs to the Green Bay area. Brian Lakari, vice president of manufacturing, stated the company aims to grow its workforce by 40% compared to 2021.
