KANSAS CITY, MO. — Pet Food Alliance (PFA) is gathering pet food and rendering processors, suppliers and those in academia to collaborate on key topics impacting the industry. This in-person event will take place in September in Kansas City, Mo., at the Kansas City Convention Center. The technical symposium will welcome participants with a supplier networking event at 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 20 sponsored by Pet Food Processing, followed by a full day of pet food discussions on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

The agenda includes regulatory updates, technology and innovations in both rendering and pet food, a discussion on foreign material mitigation, transportation’s role in food safety and pivoting in a pandemic. Several industry experts will attend the meeting to speak on these topics, as well as network with other participants.

In addition to networking opportunities throughout the day, the meeting will offer working group updates and opportunities for the PFA working groups to collaborate. Funds raised from the meeting’s registration fees will be used to support research related to the PFA working group priorities.

PFA is staying in close contact with the city of Kansas City regarding current public health guidelines. At present, the current public health guidance in place for this meeting requires face coverings for indoor activities. Any new public health updates or changes impacting this event will be communicated to attendees as information becomes available.
