OVERLAND PARK, KAN. — Some say it’s never too early to start putting up holiday decorations. For GivePet, a philanthropic pet treat company based in the heart of the Midwest, that means August. The company launched a new holiday-themed soft and chewy dog treat line earlier this month.

The line includes two festive, limited-edition recipes: Pugly Sweater Party formulated with cinnamon, ginger and peanut butter, and Peppermint Bark made with carob — a chocolate-free alternative safe for pets — molasses and peppermint. The heart-shaped treats also include flax and apple cider vinegar.

Both holiday treats will be sold in 6-oz packages for a limited time. As with all other GivePet treat products, the company will donate a bag for every purchase to benefit shelter dogs.
