PAWTUCKET, R.I. — Pet Food Experts (PFX) announced July 20 it has appointed William May as vice president of supply chain operations, effective June 7. May will oversee supply chain, warehousing, transportation and logistics operations across the pet food and supply distributor’s United States network.

May brings supply chain experience in direct-to-consumer and direct-to-store applications. He previously served as regional supply chain director at American Tire Distributor, where he oversaw 19 of the company’s US distribution centers. He also spent 12 years with W.W. Grainger in various leadership roles and held previous leadership positions with The Home Depot and US Coast Guard.

“PFX has built an industry-leading supply chain and logistics network that supports over 6,000 independent pet retailers nationwide,” said Michael Baker, president and chief executive officer of PFX. “It’s a rapid time of growth for us and William’s strong track record of leading teams to elevate operational quality and efficiency make him a valuable addition to the PFX family as we continue to deliver the superior customer experience we’re known for.”

PFX currently operates six distribution centers throughout the United States, which serve more than 6,000 independent pet retailers across 38 states.

May will report to James Bettencourt, chief operating officer at PFX.
