SAN DIEGO — Petco Health and Wellness Company, Inc. announced July 12 the election of R. Michael Mohan to the pet retail company’s board of directors, effective March 2021. He will serve on the board’s audit committee.

Most recently, Mohan was president and chief operating officer at Best Buy Co., Inc., where he was responsible for leading customer experience, services, category management, merchandising, marketing and supply chain operations for the company’s Un­ited States and international businesses.

"His experience leading Best Buy through a successful transformation towards services and e-commerce as well as how to hire, train and motivate teams has been an important asset on our board and will continue to serve Petco well."

Mohan served in various leadership roles at Best Buy since joining the company in 2004, including chief operating officer of its US business, and chief merchandising and marketing officer. He brings experience in retail, management and digital marketing to the Petco board.

Mohan currently serves on the boards of Bloomin’ Brands, Inc. and is a national trustee for the Boys & Girls Club of America.
