NEW YORK — Petco Health and Wellness Company, Inc. has partnered with CitrusAd to incorporate its retail media technologies into the pet retailer’s digital platforms, including e-commerce, desktop and mobile.
CitrusAd’s technology will offer Petco vendors targeted digital advertising through sponsored products and display ads.
“As part of our mission to improve the lives of pets and pet parents, partnering with CitrusAd will help Petco provide a more personalized shopping experience as our customers’ embark on their pets’ health and wellness journeys,” said Darren MacDonald, chief digital and innovation officer at Petco. “CitrusAd’s retail media technology will help our vendors reach Petco’s strong ecosystem of pet parents and educate them on the products and merchandise that meet their pets’ specific needs.”
Brands who sell products through Petco’s digital platforms will have the opportunity to increase sales through measured, transparent campaigns tracking awareness activity, engagement, conversion and return on ad spend (ROAS).
Petco piloted several ad campaigns for vendors in December 2020. During this pilot period, participating brands experienced an average 300% to 400% ROAS, according to the pet retailer.

Vendors can use CitrusAd’s managed service, or conduct digital advertising campaigns on a self-serve basis using CitrusAd tools.
