BURLINGTON, VT. — Ben & Jerry’s, a renowned ice cream brand hailing from Vermont, has joined the growing list of human-food brands entering the pet food and treat space with its latest launch, Doggie Desserts ice cream for dogs.

The launch includes two frozen, ice cream treats formulated specifically for canines. The products include a sunflower butter base and other dog-friendly ingredients, such as peanut butter and pretzel in its Pontch’s Mix flavor, and pumpkin and cookie bites in its Rosie’s Batch flavor. Ben & Jerry’s will use the same high-quality ingredients for its Doggie Desserts as it does in its ordinary ice cream recipes.

"We know our fans love their dogs and treat them like family," said Lindsay Bumps, global marketing specialists for Ben & Jerry’s. "We created this product line so pups can enjoy something even better than belly rubs. Doggie Desserts are the sweetest treat they'll ever put their paws on."

Doggie Desserts flavors are named after two dogs who work and play with their owners at the Ben & Jerry’s office in Vermont. Pontch is a French bulldog, and Rosie is a mixed-breed rescue dog. The company regularly allows up to 40 dogs at a time in the office.

Ben & Jerry’s new Doggie Desserts will be sold in 4-oz mini cups or 4-count multipacks in supermarkets, mass retail locations and select pet stores across the United States.
