SOUDERTON, PA. — Shortly after the new year on Jan. 4, SideDrive Conveyor Co. entered the market for sanitary and gentle conveying solutions for various food and non-food industries. The company launched to address a need for edge-driven belt technology for flexible, modular and sanitary conveying solutions.

“I am excited to announce SideDrive Conveyor Co. as the only company to offer helical and, theoretically, infinitely long conveying solutions that are sanitary, transferless and flexible,” said Kevin Mauger, president of SideDrive Conveyor. “The configurations are limitless and the possibilities are endless thanks to the unique and innovative side drive, edge-driven technology from Intralox. This technology safely and gently transports any product for any application and market while truly protecting the product and improving overall production.”

SideDrive Conveyor’s systems are built with USDA-compliant plastic designed to withstand high-pressure washdowns. The belting, drives, rods and sprockets are all plastic, eliminating the risk of metal contamination or need for lubrication.

The company said its conveyors are flexible for various applications, plant layouts and production needs. It utilizes modular, plastic belting from Intralox to offer curved, spiral, straight or winding layouts, as well as inclines or declines, without the need for product transfers.

According to the company, the cost of ownership for its conveying solutions is low due to the increased life of plastic belt materials, which reduce friction. Additionally, the transfer-less belt path offered by these systems can maintain product integrity and reduce product loss by up to 80%.

The company is owned by NCC Automated Systems, a full-service automations systems integrator working with food processors, CPG brands and OEM providers. NCC has worked with Intralox for more than 30 years, and SideDrive is one of only a few companies to have a Preferred Supplier Agreement with Intralox.
