ST. LOUIS — Manna Pro Products, a pet care and nutrition manufacturer, acquired Bullymake on Dec. 30, a direct-to-consumer retailer providing subscription-based boxes of long-lasting dog chews and treats.

“Bullymake’s commitment to creating joyful experiences for dogs and their families fits perfectly with Manna Pro’s mission of Nurturing Life,” said John Howe, chief executive officer of Manna Pro. “This addition to our portfolio enables us to further penetrate the fast-growing direct-to-consumer pet space.”

According to a 2019 survey conducted by Clutch, 54% of online shoppers subscribe to a pet product box service. Manna Pro’s acquisition of Bullymake will help it expand into the omnichannel and direct-to-consumer spaces as e-commerce continues to increase its share of the pet retail market.

Manna Pro also owns Doggie Dailies, an online pet supplement brand, which it acquired in August 2020.

Private equity firm The Carlyle Group purchased a majority stake in Manna Pro in November 2020, acquiring the company from Morgan Stanley Capital Partners.
