HAYWARD, CALIF. – Heat and Control, equipment manufacturer and food processing industry supplier, will kick off its yearlong 70th anniversary celebration on June 27.

The father/son duo of Andy and Tony Caridis have worked side by side for decades producing modern equipment solutions for the food, pharmaceutical and other processing industries.

“Our employees, customers and partners are the heartbeat of Heat and Control,” said Andy Caridis, founder and chairman of Heat and Control. “I invested my entire adult life into this company with a hope and a dream. We started with few but now we are many. For that, I am grateful.”

Founded in 1950, Heat and Control started in industrial process heating applications, such as heat treatment furnaces and combustion systems. In the 1960s, as the company grew, it became more focused on the food industry. By the 1970s, the company expanded further and was now supplying complete food processing systems.

In the 1980s, Heat and Control partnered with Ishida Japan to provide weighing and packaging technologies. The company introduced FastBack horizontal motion conveying technology in the 1990s and later the On-Machine Seasoning method of in-packaging room seasoning application that revolutionized the snack industry. Also during this decade, Heat and Control acquired Mastermatic, a frying technology company specializing in coating, frying and auxiliary systems.

The company also serves pet food and treat manufacturers, offering drying and roasting systems, ovens, product cooling solutions, conveying and seasoning systems, weighing, inspection, and process control support.

In the last two decades, Heat and Control opened several factories and offices around the globe. The company also partnered with CEIA, the world’s leading metal detection manufacturer, and later, in 2011, with Spray Dynamics, which increased its seasoning and coating capabilities.

The company employs 1,600 people worldwide out of 11 manufacturing facilities, 12 test centers and more than 30 offices around the globe.

“Heat and Control’s past with my father paving the way, prepared an outlook for an exciting future,” said Tony Caridis, president of Heat and Control. “We have incredible people in our organization, customers believe in our abilities, and there is respectful collaboration with our global partners. As the president, I would like to say thank you. Here’s to celebrating the next chapter of innovation together.”
