STAMFORD, CONN. — Jennifer Dehmel joined the American Pet Products Association (APPA) on June 17 as director of legislative and regulatory research.

In this new role, Dehmel will track new state and federal legislative developments that impact the pet industry, provide educational content and initiate cooperative initiatives and advocacy projects with government officials and interest groups on behalf of the association’s members.

“On behalf of the APPA staff and board, we welcome Jennifer to the Association and believe she’s the perfect candidate to join our government and regulatory affairs team,” said Steve King, chief executive officer of APPA. “Her vast knowledge will be a true asset to our efforts on behalf of our members and the pet industry.”

Dehmel most recently served as a litigation associate with Steinberg & Cavaliere, LLP conducting legal research and discovery, answering disciplinary complaints for professional liability proceedings and drafting counterclaims.

Dehmel received a bachelor’s degree in history from Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., and her juris doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Law in Hartford.
