HAMPTON, VA. — Registrar Corp, a provider of food safety compliance services, has acquired Vinca, LLC, an online training support company providing courses on International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certifications, Safe Quality Food (SQF), the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) compliance topics, among others.

Registrar Corp provides compliance services to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) through its online compliance management system, MyFDA. Vinca assists more than 10,000 users worldwide and plans to leverage Registrar Corp’s global scale to “take Vinca’s offerings to the next level,” said Cynthia Weber, co-president of Vinca, including capabilities such as offering courses in multiple languages and creating new content.

“We have heard from our clients that they want additional online training opportunities,” said David Lennarz, president of Registrat Corp.

“MyFDA was built to be a one-stop shop for our clients to manage their FDA compliance needs. Encompassing the online training is the next logical step toward that goal.”

Vinca’s co-presidents, Weber and Betsy Hsiao, will join the Registrar Corp team following the acquisition. Weber is a certified lead assessor for ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000 certifications and has conducted audits across the United States. She is also certified to train and consult companies on SQF compliance, EQIPT qualified packaging, and is a lead instructor of FMSA Preventive Controls for human and animal food, according to Registrar Corp.

The acquisition of Vinca marks Registrar Corp sixth overall acquisition and its second one so far in 2020. Lennarz said the company continues to look for ways to improve its compliance offerings in the food, drug and device sectors.
