IRVING, Texas — Animal Supply Company (ASC) announced Feb. 6 it has entered a partnership with e-commerce platform eTailPet to expand its digital fulfillment service, Animal Supply Connect.

By combining the two solutions, independent pet retailers will be able to create their own websites and automatically download available products through ASC’s online catalog. Pet owners can then shop directly on the retailer website and orders will be filled through Animal Supply Connect within one to three business days, the company said.

“We’re committed to providing independent pet retailers with the tools they need to succeed,” said Matthew Roach, director of digital commerce at ASC. “From offering the highest-quality pet products to building partnerships that allow us to offer the latest digital tools, our goal is to support independent pet retailers as more consumers look online for products.”

Most recently, ASC and eTailPet brought on Pet Pros, a large Pacific Northwestern independent pet retailer, to create a customized website through their platform.

“The Animal Supply and eTailPet teams did all the heavy lifting to get our online store up and running,” said Georgann K. McConn, general manager at Pet Pros. “It was much easier than we thought and will allow us to better serve our current customers and reach new ones.”

ASC is also partnered with BigCommerce and Shopify to support its digital fulfillment service as well as the independent pet product retailers competing with the rise of e-commerce.

“We’re excited to see our partnership helping independent pet retailers serve consumers in the digital space and we look forward to onboarding additional customers,” said Shianna Andersack, director of revenue at eTailPet. “Through our work with ASC, pet parents can continue shopping locally — whether that’s online or in-store — and smaller retailers can compete with large online sellers.”

These digital retail innovations stem from the acquisition of ASC in February 2019 by Summit Partners and certain Goldman Sachs Asset Management funds, who invested a large amount of capital to support the distributors growth and operations.
