WASHINGTON D.C. — The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Sept. 26 warned consumers about a raw pet food product, Performance Dog, that tested positive for Salmonella and/or Listeria monocytogenes.

The contaminated product was Performance Dog raw pet food, Lot 072219 in 2-lb. pouches, but the FDA is going further in warning consumers of all Performance Dog frozen raw pet food products produced on or after July 22, 2019 because the products do not have lot codes printed on the individual product packaging, the agency said.

The FDA collected two samples of raw pet food manufactured in Carneys Point, New Jersey by Bravo Packing, Inc., including Performance Dog and another variety of raw beef pet food, and discovered the Performance Dog product was contaminated.
