ROSEMONT, Ill. — Agricultural supply chain professionals will gather Nov. 20 to 21 for the 2019 Sustainable Agriculture Summit in Indianapolis, where the theme will be “Accelerating Progress: A Roadmap for Sustainable Agriculture.”

The event is expected to draw more than 500 leaders involved in the food and agricultural supply chain. On the agenda are multiple meetings and breakout sessions where attendees can discuss key topics and issues facing the industry today, as well as keynote speakers and presentations throughout.

Topics to be discussed include driving sustainable business strategies with “climate smart agriculture,” possible solutions and expectations for food and agriculture in the coming decade, the culture, technology and policy around animal welfare and lessons from innovative industry disruptors.

Four key members of the industry who will attend the summit include Corby Kummer, senior editor at The Atlantic; Zach Johnson and Mitchell Hora, farmers and hosts of American Public Media’s Field Work podcast; and Amanda Little, professor at Vanderbilt University, award-winning investigative journalists and author of “The Fate of Food.”

Several agricultural companies will also be exhibiting at the Sustainable Agriculture Summit, including General Mills, Nestlé Purina, NSF International, IntelliFarms and others. 

The summit is hosted by six diverse agricultural organizations: Field to Market, Innovation Center for US Dairy, National Pork Board, Stewardship Index for Specialty Crops, US Poultry & Egg Association and US Roundtable for Sustainable Beef.
