VANCOUVER — Geyser Brands Inc. on April 23 tapped Anthony Webb, founder and CEO of Brandeavor, as a consultant for strategic branding and creative counsel for Geyser and its subsidiaries. Geyser’s primary focus going forward is developing hemp-derived consumer product brands in the health, pet, cosmetics and beverage markets in North America, Europe and Asia.

"The Geyser Brands team is thrilled to have Anthony on board and working to support our business and brand growth," said Andreas Thatcher, CEO of Geyser. "Anthony is an old friend and confidant, and his global experience with consumers across all industries - from luxury products and retail to sports and entertainment - gives him a perspective into consumer needs and preferences that are rivaled by few in the industry. Combined with the data-driven digital strategy frameworks supported by GetFresh Ventures, we are perfectly positioned to develop a compelling, highly differentiated, and consumer-focused approach to brand growth and development."

GetFresh Ventures is a strategic data partner and digital growth service helping Geyser develop new market opportunities, which Webb will work closely with.

Geyser is currently negotiating with several US brands looking to expand distribution in Canada, as well as joint ventures tied to China and Japan regarding the commercialization of hemp products there, and is working to finalize the acquisition of Solace Management Group, Inc., a Canadian hemp product company that owns two CBD-focused pet brands, for a proposed $3.9 million.

Geyser signed a non-binding letter of intent in February 2019 to acquire Solace.

Apawthecary Pets, Solace’s hemp-based pet treat brand, markets products sold in more than 400 retail stores and over 100 veterinary locations throughout Canada. Its other pet brand, WildTail Pets, includes hemp-infused single-ingredient, freeze-dried pet treats and diets, as well as kibbles.

Solace pulled in $2 million in revenue in 2018, reflecting 120% growth from its previous fiscal year sales, according to Geyser.

Geyser stated once the acquisition is complete it plans to elevate Solace brands to the global stage through retail and direct-to-consumer channels and launch hemp-infused brands in the US, Europe and Asia, as well as CBD-infused products in locations where the ingredient is deemed legal.
