Every year, representatives from more than 1,000 companies attend Global Pet Expo in Orlando, Florida and showcase the latest and greatest products for pets.  In 2018, the show displayed “16 football fields’ worth of pet products, more than 3,000 product launches and 270 first-time exhibiting companies,” according to Global Pet Expo. The show is presented by the American Pet Products Association (APPA) and Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA).

This year, Andy Darmohraj, executive VP and COO of APPA, announced the event has sold a record number of booths and will be the largest Global Pet Expo to date. Brands will demonstrate innovative trends in formulation and packaging, and raise the stakes for another year of pet industry competition, proliferation and evolution. Here are a few of the new pet food and treat products to appear at the show this year.

The Bear & The Rat's new Frozen Goat Milk Yogurt with  Optagest®The Bear & The Rat will unveil three new features at booth #901: updated packaging for its Cool Treats for Dogs along with a new formulation to include Optagest®, a prebiotic with digestive enzymes to promote a strong immune system in pets, and a new ready-to-eat frozen goat milk yogurt treat for cats and dogs that is also formulated with Optagest®. The Bear & The Rat partnered with InClover research to develop the pet treat ingredient.

Boss Dog Brand, which released its first product in December 2018, will exhibit in booth #6778 its Greek-style frozen yogurt dog treats as well as its newest product, raw goat milk supplement for dogs and cats.

Under the Weather will introduce three new bone broth formulas to its bland diet dog food line at booth #4770, each offering added hydration and a myriad of other health benefits, such as joint health support, liver detoxification and others.

Caru's chicken and crab stew diet for catsCaru Pet Food will release several new products at booth #721, including four stew diets for cats to complement its existing stew product line for dogs. They will be available in four flavors: chicken, chicken & crab, turkey, and wild salmon & turkey stew. Caru will also showcase two new varieties of its Daily Dish Stews for dogs, including turkey and turkey with wild salmon formulas. All Caru products are packaged with Tetra Pak cartons, which are a recyclable, BPA-free alternative to traditional can packaging.

Purina will introduce new natural pet foods to its Beyond brand, formulated with regionally sourced protein as the first ingredient. It will also showcase a new brand of natural, grain-free dog treats with meat as the first ingredient at booth #1935.

Vet Instinct will add three new supplement formulas with unique ingredients to support dog health, including Coat Care with coconut and dandelion root, Joint Health with green-lipped mussel and turmeric, and Digestive Aid with papaya and ginger, at booth #938.

Pet companies from the United Kingdom will exhibit in the British pavilion, including Rockster Superfood (booth #4966), a European pet food manufacturer now being distributed in the US for the first time, and Law Print & Packaging (#1458), packaging supplier that helped another UK pet food manufacturer enter the US market with new packaging in November 2018.

Other companies attending the expo include American Nutrition, which will display its super premium pet food formulations at booth #1774 along with some private-label brands the company co-manufactures. Earth Animal Nature's Comfort dog supplementsGott Pet Products, maker of Charlee Bear and Hound & Gatos, will showcase new packaging for both its brands at booth #991.

The trend toward functional pet supplements with hemp or cannabidiol (CBD) will be exhibited by many brands and new products. Companies such as Honest Paws (booth #6670), True Leaf (#1283), Lord Jameson (#924), Therabis (#706), Paws Effect (#5951), Earth Animal (#1381), Holistic Hound (#570), Treatibles (#450) and more will highlight the health benefits of CBD and hemp on the trade show floor.

Foods (#577), The Honest Kitchen (#501), Do Only Good Certified Pet Nutrition (#808), Castor & Pollux (#1375) and others.
