PERHAM, Minn. — A portion of the roof over Tuffy’s Pet Foods facility in Perham collapsed Saturday, March 9 due to heavy accumulations of snow. No one was injured by the incident, but the damaged area of the warehouse has been closed and inspected by structural engineers.

Chase Rasmussen, VP of Tuffy’s, said in a press statement about the incident, “The damage does not affect any of the other warehouse operations or the production facility. However, the damaged portion of the warehouse does sit at a point where many products would normally traverse. Tuffy’s is currently assessing options for rerouting products to keep workflow minimally impacted.”

Rasmussen also said Tuffy’s does not expect shortages or delays in shipping, which resumed Monday, March 11, and planned to resume production last week.

Tuffy’s Pet Foods manufactures NutriSource, Pure Vita, Natural Planet Pet Foods, Gold, Supreme and Premium Tuffy’s brands of pet food and treats. The Perham facility opened in August 2015 after Tuffy’s invested $70 million to construct it.
