BERKELEY, Calif. — Wild Earth released two new flavors of its koji protein dog treats March 13 to include bananas and cinnamon, and strawberries and beets. The new flavors are formulated to provide the 10 essential amino acids dogs need, like the original peanut butter flavor, but offer other nutritional benefits.

Banana & cinnamon koji treats provide potassium, magnesium and other vitamins, as well as support periodontal functions. The strawberry & beet treats can be a source of antioxidants, fiber, and vitamin C, and support immune function, heart and liver health among other benefits.

“Bananas, strawberries, and beets can be healthy and fun additions to a dog’s diet, and are naturally low in fat and calories,” said Ernie Ward, Ph.D., CVM, chief veterinary officer. “We’ve taken these benefits and added them to high-protein koji for a snack without the drawbacks of pet foods derived from animal agriculture and without the harmful eco-impact.”

Wild Earth CEO Ryan Bethencourt added, “Our customers and their dogs have been asking for more flavors, and as a foster parent for Rocket Dog Rescue the opinion of all of those good boys and good girls matters a lot to me. It took many treats, and many belly rubs, but we got an overwhelming wags-up for the new flavors!”

The new flavors were taste-tested and approved by shelter dogs at Rocket Dog Rescue, a San Francisco Bay Area pet shelter and nonprofit organization. Wild Earth will include these new flavors in its investment pitch on Shark Tank, scheduled to air Sunday, March 17.

The new flavors are available in 5-oz. bags at select retail stores and through WildEarth.com and Amazon. Read more about Wild Earth’s cultured koji protein formula.
