General Mills will invest $8.5 million in a new 408,000-sq.-ft. distribution center for its Blue Buffalo brand in McDonough, Georgia. The new facility will create more than 50 jobs in Henry County and aide distribution of Blue Buffalo products in the Southeastern US.

“Blue Buffalo is the #1 wholesome natural pet food brand in the US and we are pleased to be expanding with the addition of the facility in McDonough,” said Billy Bishop, president of General Mills’ pet segment. “This facility will enable us to better serve consumers, pet parents and pets in the southeast with the BLUE brand of products.”

General Mills acquired Blue Buffalo in April 2018, and plans to release new products under the brand in February 2019.
