HAELEN, the Netherlands — Food processors traveled to the Netherlands earlier this month to learn how to optimize their counterflow equipment during Geelen Counterflow’s 11th annual dryer and cooler training class. The three-day training offered insights and workshops on thermodynamics, relative humidity, dew point temperatures, radiation, convection and more. Pet food processors using dryers for extruded pet food were invited to learn how to optimize dryers for efficiency, uniformity and longevity.

Geelen welcomed 28 dryer customers this year from 11 countries in Asia, Europe, South America and Africa. Participants gained global networking opportunities as well as applicable knowledge. This training event has drawn more than 200 manufacturers since it began in 2007.

Geelen Counterflow manufactures counterflow dryers and coolers for the global food processing industry. It is based in Haelen, the Netherlands, with offices in Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia.
